Together we decided that we wanted to help other people through the natural process of giving birth in any way that they choose, because your birth should be in your hands. You should have the information, you should have the space to make your own choices that you feel are right for your family. Whether you are choosing a scheduled repeat cesarean, a medication free home-birth, a VBAC, or an induction. Whether you’re dealing with a terminal diagnosis, a miscarriage or an abortion. We want to be by your side, to remind you that you have the power and the strength to choose. We want to arm you with the information you need to make your choices with confidence. No one should feel alone, no one should have their voice taken from them, and no one should be pressured to make a decision they don’t understand. We are a Doula group born of fear and hope. Fear that we aren’t alone in our past struggles, and hope that the future will favor true informed consent and bodily autonomy.
Amber is a loving mother to 3 children, and a passionate advocate for evidence based birth and true informed consent. She has personally experienced hospital births and her very own home-birth. She is self driven, outgoing and has an incredibly creative mind. She takes beautiful birth photographs and creates lovely works of art using placentas. She has experience with Insufficient Glandular Tissue and the extensive use of supplemental nursing systems and donor milk. She is incredibly compassionate and is always mindful of the difficulties of others. She has been a Doula since 2016, recently gaining her doula certification through StillBirthday, and is undergoing further studies at Madriella in Childbirth Education, Birth and Postpartum Doula Support and Breastfeeding Support. She is also undergoing the PEP process in Arizona as a Student Midwife, hoping to one day be a Midwife serving the Tucson area. As part of Amber's deep passion for informed decision making she certified as a Child Passenger Safety Technician 6 years ago to help parents make the best car seat choices for their children.
Nicole is a mommy to three, and is said to be quite the calming presence in a delivery room. She is an amazing birth-keeper, and a fantastic Doula. Her passion for labor support was sparked by her own experiences with birth in a hospital setting. Often left feeling ignored or discounted by medical staff. With each pregnancy she began to find her voice and discovered what a difference it made to feel heard and validated. She wants to share that feeling with others and help them know that their voice counts too. Nicole has knowledge of breastfeeding and is prepared to assist with common problems. She has personal experience with c-sections, and is especially passionate about family centered surgical births. Nicole recently certified as a Birth and Bereavement Doula through StillBirthday, and is pursuing her Midwifery training through the Arizona PEP process.
